Sandpit Medical Office Building  |  Danbury, Connecticut

This new three story office building was constructed for private developers seeking to lease new space to medical practices and related services of Danbury Hospital. Initially, Caldwell & Walsh was commissioned to build the core and shell of the building. We were then retained to fit-out the building as tenant suites were leased by Danbury Hospital, including corporate health, laboratory services, a new conference center for community educational forums, and a pediatric center.

This esthetically pleasing building stands out from typical medical office buildings. Constructed on an almost 10 acre site, the building has grade level entrances at both the east and west parking areas.  The ground-level parking provides easy access for families with strollers and those in wheel chairs. The facade is clad in a combination of orange-tone brick veneer and accents bands of concrete masonry with an exposed aggregate face. Large green-tint windows with low ‘E’ glass punctuate all four elevations.  Two-story curtain walls provide ample daylight to interior spaces and standing seam zinc-coated roof panels with custom finials demonstrate the owners’ commitment to quality.

Physicians and specialty medical practices have occupied more than 90% of the space making this Danbury Hospital’s single largest leased building in the area.
