Westside Fire Station  |  Danbury, Connecticut

Numerous budget cuts and City of Danbury administration changes delayed the construction of this firehouse for more than twenty years. It is finally a reality. The Westside Fire Station is a one story structure and the new home of Engine Co. 26. It accommodates up to ten full-time fire fighters ready to serve the needs of Danbury’s growing residential population in the western part of the City. It’s the first major expansion of the Danbury Fire Department since Engine 25 a generation ago.

The building contains living and sleeping quarters for up to ten firefighters, two engines, a pumper truck, and a tank truck. The building is constructed to meet tight elevation and drainage tolerances due to its proximity to wetlands, flood plain, and Danbury Airport.
